FATTORIA NUOVA PIEVANELLA

Nuova Pievanella is an agriturismo and organic farm located in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma. The beautiful countryside and peaceful surroundings are an ideal setting to experience the real Tuscany.

Fattoria Nuova Pievanella represents Alfio Carpini and Ursula Carpini-Dürrschmidt's new undertaking. The choice of Nuova Pievanella was determined by their desire to continue on the path of organic farming in an environment where their ideas could be truly concretised.

Nuova Pievanella is located in one of the few areas in Tuscany which have remained intact through the centuries, unknown as it is both to urbanization and to mass tourism. On these lands, farmers have continued to grow one of the most typical products of Tuscan agriculture, olive trees, according to the ancient rhythms and traditions. If, on one hand, in the past this has caused a limited production of olives, on the other hand, it has ensured the genuineness of the products and utmost respect for nature over the centuries.

The lands of the farm are surrounded by dense woods, and this makes very high-level organic farming possible.

In addition to the olive growing activity, which they hope to continue and improve, Alfio and Ursula are dedicating a lot of energy and all their usual enthusiasm to reviving the tradition of wine-growing. This tradition, related to the history of the nearby Castle of Monte Antico, dates back to an era in which the wine-growing area of Montalcino was still uncultivated land.

The wine which will be produced by Fattoria Nuova Pievanella will be Montecucco D.O.C. wine, a newly certified wine with a great potential deriving from its ancient roots and the unspoilt lands where the vineyards will be grown.

The strength of Nuova Pievanella is no doubt the natural environment, an ideal setting not only for organic olive- and wine-growing, but also for the guests, who arrive at the farm to spend a relaxing holiday in a breathtaking place, where nature is the protagonist despite being only few kilometres away from cities of great history and charm like Grosseto and Siena.
